AI Price Shock, TikTok's Final Chapter, and the 'ChatGPT for Music

OpenAI is Developing a 'ChatGPT for Music' Tool to Create New Tunes

The company is reportedly working on a new generative AI platform that creates original tunes, sounds, and songs from user prompts. The project involves working with students from The Juilliard School for training data, signaling the next frontier of AI's expansion into the creative industry, despite ongoing copyright scrutiny.

Australia Sues Microsoft Over 'Misleading' AI-Driven 365 Price Hikes

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has filed a lawsuit against Microsoft, accusing the company of allegedly hiding a cheaper, non-AI-bundled version of Microsoft 365. The bundling of the new Copilot AI tool led to a price jump of up to 45% for 2.7 million customers who were led to believe they had to upgrade or cancel.

US & China Leaders Set to Finalize Highly Anticipated TikTok Deal This Week

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Presidents Trump and Xi Jinping are scheduled to finalize the details of the TikTok sale to a US-based owner later this week. The deal aims to address security concerns by having a new US-based board control the app's operations, recommendation algorithm, source code, and content moderation.
